Although I wouldn’t personally recommend it, Asterisk can be installed automatically with apt.

You’ll need to have the universe enabled in your repositories. Follow these steps to get that working. Once you’ve done that, its as simple as:

sudo apt-get install asterisk

The last time I attempted this, they were using an old version of Asterisk. It doesn’t take much time to do it manually, so I would recommend doing that and having up to date code… but if you’re lazy feel free.
