≡ Linksys PAP-2 NA

The PAP2 NA is fairly simple because it isn’t branded to one provider.  You’ll just need the admin password.

In my case I had to contact ViaTalk and have them email me the password.

If you’re looking to go un-provisioned or looking to switch to a different provider, you’re going to want to clear out all of the settings in the device and return its configuration to the factory standards.

Plug the ATA into your router via ethernet and plug the power in. All four lights will flash on and off a few times and the adapter will [eventually] get an IP address. You’ll know the adapter has an IP, when the power light stops blinking and stays steadily lit. The internet activity light will flicker and [depending on what you’ve got configured] the line 1/2 lights may light up.

Next, using a corded telephone directly into the line 1 jack on the ATA dial the star key four times.

You will hear the voice menu play “Configuration menu….”   Dial 73738#    [RESET#]

You will be prompted for “Password?”    Dial in your admin password using the keypad [as we did with RESET] and hit the # key. Depending on the version of your PAP2, the device should give you audible confirmation that the process was successful and the adapter will powercycle automatically.

The next time you access the ATA configuration, it will be completely cleared out. It will no longer require a password either, unless you choose to set up your own.

Congratulations, you are the new owner of a clear unlocked PAP2 NA!
